Diversify production towards high-quality, high-tech textiles and specialty and niche products 

Lodz, 13th and 14th of November

7th Thematic Exchange Workshop and Study Visit was held in the Lodz on 13th and 14th of November focused on topic “Diversify production towards high-quality, high-tech textiles and specialty and niche products” coordinated by The Lodzkie Region.
GPs presentation session started with the experience introduced by ARED titled “Complex Investigation and Evaluation of the Softening Effect on Terry Fabrics” and the Good Practices from Tuscany with “Progetto Achille” and “Smart specialisation and technological foresight for Fashion sector”. The workshop ended with “Scottish Manufacturing Advice Service” presented by Winchester School of Art and the University of Minho, Eco-wash project GP.
The workshop was concluded with a study visit to two important institutions for the textile and clothing sector of the Region, the Institute of Security Technologies MORATEX and the Technical University of Lodz.
The Institute of Security Technologies MORATEX detains the leading position among domestic R&D bodies and developers of hi – tech products intended for various branches of national economy. MORATEX is a R&D body subordinated to the Minister of Interior and Administration. The subject of it’s activity is carrying-out the scientific research and development works aimed to elaborate the new technical and technological solutions for health and human life protection transferring them to the industry usage.
As PLUSTEX second Study Visit, partners visited the Technical University of Lodz (Department of Material and Commodity Sciences and Textile Metrology) – Department provides a wide range of research services for the analyzes, seek innovative solutions and products and advisory services. In addition, it operates teaching aimed a engineers, process engineers, production managers, specialists for the creation and marketing of innovative textile products, evaluation and quality control. The interdisciplinary nature of the Department provides students with a very comprehensive knowledge.
